Prov. 31:25

Cancer is a word, not a sentence.

Hi! My name is Jenny. I have been married to my best friend for 33 years, I have two wonderful children and on June 30, 2015 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am determined to get well and I know that with the strength my Lord provides and the love and support of my family and friends, that will happen. The road to healing is a difficult one… however I strive to be thankful for the blessings I have, to find joy in every day and maybe in some small way be a blessing to those I come in contact with. The support and encouragement that I find on this blog makes my heart smile and helps me to realize that I am not alone. All of you are so much appreciated and help me more than you will ever know. So thanks for stopping by....if you would like please leave a comment after my post....I would love to hear from you.

Thirty Two Years Ago Today

I married my best friend and the love of my life. I thought that maybe while you listened to one of my favorite songs you might like to take a picture walk with me down memory lane and catch a glimpse of the last 32 years. The time has flown by but it is filled with so many precious memories, priceless small moments, much laughter, some tears and a love that will live on for many, many years to come. It is a love that I treasure every day and one that I will continue to cherish forever.

I am nothing special, of this I am sure.

I am a common man, with common thoughts, and I have led a common life.

There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I have loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.

So Happy Anniversary my dear Scott. Thank you for all the love you have shared with me, the joy you have brought into my life, for being the man I can count on to see me through this battle. Thank you for making me laugh when I want to cry, for holding my hand just because , for making me feel beautiful even when I know I am not and most important just for being the man that you are, the one who will always stand by me no matter where the road leads. So today I ask only one thing…..

“ Grow old along with me….the best is yet to be”

I’ll always love you to the moon and back a zillion times and then some….

Your Jenny

  1. Oh my dear Jenny, how sweet! Happy anniversary! I know this post is for Scott, but I can't help saying: thank you for sharing! I can't tell you how happy I am to see these pictures, to enjoy the view of my golden friends!!!
I left the house at 7 am yesterday and came in at 11 pm (work), so I am way too late ... but congratulations and we all wish you many, many happy years to come!

Hugs my friend and lots of waves across the ocean,

  3. What a lovely post, Jenny--I am honored that you shared it with us. You have such a lovely family and I know their support and your faith is getting you through this difficult time in your life...

I teared up a bit at the end when I got to the words "Grow old along with me... the best is yet to be." That was always my parents special poem, too--it is even engraved on their tombstone. They enjoyed 61 years together and I wish the same (and even longer!) for you and Scott. Happy Anniversary!

  4. Hi Jenny: What a beautiful life in pictures! I have been married for nearly 35 years and it's such a treasure, isn't it? Your hubby sounds like mine - caring and kind through everything.

I found you through Vickie's blog - A Stitcher's Story - and wanted to come by and let you know that I will be praying for you. Health issues are so hard but God is bigger than all this and I will be praying you are kept in His perfect peace and love.

    Many blessings - Julie
